Hand-embroidered by Otomi Indians in Hidalgo, Mexico on white cotton muslin.  Prior to the embroidery, draws the design on the muslin with a water soluble ink pen.  Then the embroiderer goes to work.  A piece this size with so many colors may take 3 weeks to complete.
