Huichol Art- Mexico
In the middle, between the 2 eagles, is a prayer arrow, made as a "thank you" payment to the Huichol gods and goddesses for health, creativity, prosperity, and good harvests. The embroidered hoops attached on either side of the arrow catch good luck through the wind. Traditionally, these arrows would be placed by a river or on a mountainside. Here the eagles are represented carrying the messages heavenward. Each artist has an explanation on the back of the piece explaining the picture. 12" x 12".
