1990's ceremonial huipil from the Cakchiquel village of Chuarrancho (north of Guatemala City) in the departamento of Guatemala. Consists of 2 back-strap woven panels with geometric and zoomorphic designs in vibrant colors. A beautiful decorative randa joins the two pieces. Note on one side at the bottom of the huipil are interesting stylized birds and animals which are traditional design elements of huipiles of Chuarrancho. Excellent condition.
