Faja from Chichicastenango, Guatemala

This faja or hand-woven belt was woven on a back-strap loom.  This is a new faja with vibrant geometric colors.  The woman tucks her huipil into her corte and then ties it all together with the faja which is wrapped several times around her waist.  This faja is completely covered in woven designs.
