1990's Huipil from Chajul, one of the
3 villages in the Ixil Triangle.
Huipiles from Chajul are characterized by their usually whimsical
animals or birds. Here, the double-headed eagle is
represented. The green base cloth was woven on a
back-strap loom in 2 panels. Very nice piece with nice
shoulder design.
