In the Tz'utujil community of San Juan la Laguna, the women use only organic natural dyes - some of which are found in their surroundings and others which are grown in their plant nursery.  This community also has an active group of women who grow and produce medicinal plants. 

The cape shown from the front is not the exact one.  The one shown from the back is the cape that will be sent.  It was woven in 2 panels on a back-strap loom and joined with a decorative stitching.
